A mix of vibrant blocks, dozens of bright colors, and a labyrinth of desk which runs through the entire room; this is how we can describe the office of the online artist community, Pixiv. Based in Japan, Pixiv is a website showcasing independent and mainstream graphic works, created by budding illustrators and freelancing graphic designers. Their office should be as artistic as their website, and Tokyo-based studio Teamlab has created just the right interior for them.
The highlight of their working space is a 250 meter desk, swirling around the entire place. What’s awesome is that Teamlab managed to make use of every corner into a productive area for each of the worker. While the wooden table is completely connected as one, there are cut out holes which serves as private areas where one can use as their desk. A three-tiered bookshelf stands as a centerpiece and can be a great place to settle too. There is a molded arch that is used as a passageway for everyone to go through. The interior’s flooring is made up of colorful, pixel-like cubes which makes the room fun and vibrant.
Because this office is meant for an art community, various graphic designs are spread all over the workplace. In their co-working space, block chairs are used as seating, which can be stacked as dividers. The Pixiv office has an auditorium styled room and an entryway composed of 3000 place cards. It is the company’s mission to make every visitor enjoy drawing, and guests can draw on their own place card to mark their visit on this animated office.
